Where to party in Ibiza

Ibiza - Where to partyIbiza has a reputation for being one of the hardest partying places on the planet and with good reason. This Balearic island has been the number one destination for any self-respecting hedonist. Monarch Airlines regularly offers cheap flights to Ibiza so you can hop across relatively cheaply, which is good news since the island itself can get rather expensive. Alternatively if you don’t want to do all the organising yourself there are loads of package holidays on offer. If you’re determined to party like mad, Ibiza has it all.

For those who are over for the nightlife, Ibiza has so much choice that it’s hard to know where to start! Well known clubs include Privilege which is the largest club in the world with 10’000 strong capacity! Eden is the busiest club on the island, and Space and Pacha are also famous for their all day all night parties. Where you stay on the island will probably come down to where you want to which clubs you want to visit. The three major clubbing resorts are:

Ibiza – during the day the cobbled streets of Ibiza town provide a serene locale on the island, with pleasant shops, good food and drink freely available. However as the night falls, the old town begins to warm up for the evening ahead. Bars come alive, in particular, Calle de la Virgin (street of the virgin), a street lined with gay bars and fetish shops – some outrageous sights meet the eyes as the clubbers get ready to party! Pacha and El Divino are 10 minutes from the Port area, but if you’re feeling super extravagant you can make an entrance into El Divino by boat.

San Antonio – situated on the other side of the island, superclubs Eden and Es Paradis are located here. You’ll find lots of British tourists here, partying on the beaches and bars of the resort, most of which are situated within walking distance of each other. Another attraction of San Antonio is that drink and accommodation are priced relatively cheaply. This side of the island is reknowned for its sunsets – the Café del Mar is a popular spot for watching the sun go down.

Playa d’en Bossa – right on the coast, home to Space, Playa d’en Bossa has something to cater for every wish – discos, bars, pubs – you won’t be long searching for a watering hole. This resort attracts a mixture of younger, more international clubbers and those who are here for the first time. Visiting the Bora Bora beach bar is a must.

Ibiza’s not for the faint-hearted but it’s the closest most of us will come to a truly hedonistic lifestyle, even if it’s only for a week.
